I really liked how this didn't just feel like a cheap power fantasy, because of how Kari kept pushing back against Ail. That dynamic made the darker horror segments feel much more impactful than the explicit parts, and the way the animation captures that 2001 griminess during the holy dinner scenes makes the whole episode feel much more ominous and strange.
