What happens when you send a trainee monk to live at a Buddhist temple full of priestesses-in-training? Chaos, mostly. Ikkou Satonaka is 16, spiritually unremarkable, and stationed at Saienji Temple under his grandmother's watchful eye. Living alongside him are six young women: Chitose, Haruka, Sumi, Hinata, Sakura, and Yuko, each developing their own supernatural abilities for exorcisms and spiritual work. Ikkou, by contrast, seems pretty useless. Until he isn't. Turns out he has a latent power that would make him genuinely formidable, but it only activates when he sees a girl without clothes. His grandmother knows this. The girls eventually figure it out. Nobody is particularly happy about it. What follows across 12 episodes is a genuinely funny push-and-pull between Ikkou trying not to be a disaster and the temple's very real supernatural duties demanding that he occasionally step up. The Buddhist setting is a legitimately interesting backdrop, not just wallpaper, but woven into how the characters train and what they're working toward. If you liked Love Hina's harem-house comedic energy or Tenchi Muyo's blend of supernatural shenanigans with romantic tension, this sits comfortably in that neighborhood. Fans of Magikano will also recognize the rhythm of a clueless guy surrounded by capable women with powers he can barely keep up with. It's a lighthearted TV series from Studio Deen, nothing heavy, nothing particularly surprising, but comfortable and consistently funny if that's the mood you're in.
