Affair of Housewife Reiko
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Stuck in a rough spot, housewife Reiko has a husband named Hiroaki who is obsessed with an idol named Mamayu, and the kicker is that Reiko actually looks like her. Instead of being grateful for that coincidence, Hiroaki has essentially turned his wife into a stand-in fantasy, calling out the idol's name during their intimate moments. Reiko is understandably done with that. Feeling invisible in her own marriage, she opens up to Taniguchi, one of Hiroaki's old university friends, and what starts as venting turns into something much more complicated when she proposes they become sex friends to deal with her frustration. That's the setup, and the OVA doesn't really take sides — it just puts you in the middle of a messy situation and lets you sit with it. There's genuine emotional weight here underneath the explicit content; Reiko's situation is legitimately sympathetic, and the dynamic between her and Taniguchi has real tension to it. If you've watched something like Kimi ga Nozomu Eien or NTR: Netsuzou Trap and appreciated how those stories handle infidelity without clean moral answers, this operates in similar territory. It's a single OVA from 2012, adapted from manga by studio T-Rex, so it's a short watch — but it's more character-driven than you might expect from the genre.
