Accelerando: Datenshi-tachi no Sasayaki

At a cozy café, Tamaki works quietly, tangled up in a secret thing with her coworker Kurono. Their mutual friend Ohashi comes in regularly, completely unaware of what's going on between them — but Kurono notices that Ohashi has feelings for Tamaki that he's never said out loud. Instead of letting things play out naturally, Kurono decides to nudge the situation in his own twisted way, using Tamaki to provoke a reaction from Ohashi. That setup — a love triangle where one person is actively pulling strings while the other two don't fully understand what's happening — is where the drama lives. It's less about straightforward romance and more about emotional manipulation dressed up in a café setting. The characters actually feel distinct, which makes the tension between them land harder than you'd expect from a 4-episode OVA. If you've watched something like Stringendo: Angel-tachi no Private Lesson and appreciated when these kinds of productions bother to give characters actual motivations, this scratches a similar itch. Fans of Bible Black who liked that slow, charged atmosphere might also find something here. It's not going to reinvent anything, but for a 2007 release from Flavors Soft and Maboroshi Koubou, it puts more effort into its character dynamics than the runtime technically requires. Worth a look if you want something with a bit of emotional tension underneath the surface.
