A-Sized Classmate
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Self-doubt has swallowed Kaito whole — this high school kid who blends into the background and figures that's just how things are. Then he has an awkward, accidental run-in with Akari, a classmate who's confident, creative, and not particularly interested in ignoring him the way he half-expects her to. She reaches out anyway, and what starts as a strange, stumbling connection slowly becomes something that pushes Kaito to actually look at himself — his anxieties, his hidden interests, even a latent artistic ability he never thought to take seriously. The two-episode OVA format keeps things tight, so there's no filler padding out the story. It moves, it has genuine warmth between the leads, and the animation does a solid job conveying the small emotional shifts that make character moments land. Being based on Kou Okada's manga, the source material gives it a grounded, character-driven core that the adaptation carries through pretty faithfully. If you've enjoyed the awkward-but-sweet dynamic in things like A Sharp-Eyed Classmate or the understated character work in Classmates, this sits in similar territory. It's not trying to be epic — it's a small, personal story about someone figuring out they're worth more than they gave themselves credit for, told efficiently and without a lot of noise. Sometimes that's exactly what you're in the mood for.
