Punirunes: Puni 4
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Punirunes: Puni 4 is a kids' fantasy slice-of-life series about tiny, soft creatures who genuinely enjoy being squished. Yuka looks after a group of them, including curious Airune, energetic Enerune, affectionate Loverune, artist Ururune, and fashion-minded Coolrune. Their days bounce between Yuka's ordinary human home, the bright and colorful Puniland, and Kachikochi Land, a deliberately hard world where nothing is squishy. The first episodes keep things small: a trip to visit Jewelune, a prince from Kachikochi Land, turns into a gift-shopping detour and a tricky goodbye, while a simple wish to cuddle a baby leads to Airune becoming a baby Punirune and some domestic magical chaos. What makes it work is the texture. The full-CGI, toy-like look makes every character glossy and huggable, and the comedy comes from caretaking, curiosity, and the clash between soft and hard worlds. If you liked Tamagotchi! for its tiny-creature bonding, Rilu Rilu Fairilu for its gentle fantasy charm, or Mewkledreamy for cozy magical mishaps, this fits that same calm, wholesome pocket.

The nighttime hunt for the flowers with Ururun and Airun coming back covered in dirt at sunrise was genuinely sweet. Two little guys wrecking themselves just to bring a bouquet to class. That is friendship
Ururun almost crying alone in the empty classroom after the day fell apart hit harder than it should have for a show about little round creatures. The flower sketch reveal explained so much about why they draw at all
Airun drawing a single lonely flower next to everyone else's elaborate bouquets is exactly the kind of quiet disrespect I live for. Ururun-sensei just stands there accepting it too
The Sushirun collab was the only part of the final showcase that made me actually laugh out loud. Everyone else is doing careful flower studies and the sushi squad just goes full sushi with it. Nobody told them to stop and that is the funniest thing about it
